Posh got married!!!

I probably have a talent for wedding photography...what you think?!? haha

Last year I ended December 2012 with a wedding of one of my lawschool friends.

Now, my 2013 kicked off with yet another wedding.

Immaculate Conception Cathedral

The venue of the wedding has a particular attachment to me as the church, Immaculate Conception Cathedral has been a silent witness to all my sacraments as a Catholic girl. I was baptized there, had my confession, first communion and confirmation. I witnessed its reconstruction from a baroque (sorta) theme to a medieval/renaissance church (or so (I THINK---can you guess I have no idea what I'm talking about?!? haha) I heard).

Posh is one of the four individuals that composed of the happy friends group (I, included). They were my officemates and boss in my former office. I coined the term happy friends simply because we are always happy with whatever adventure we encounter as a group.

Last year (February 2012), we visited Tots in Singapore (who got relocated there due to work) and we had a blast! This year Posh got married and Keenan is now a father of a beautiful baby girl. Does this mean the “big” change is on me now?!? *excited much?!?*  Again, I digress…

missing yet another happy friend, Tots.

Tots, unfortunately couldn’t make it for Posh’s wedding so its only Keenan and I. (Also, this is the first time I got to ride Keenan’s brand new car and experienced Kee’s road-rage even if the venue is just three blocks from my house!)

The wedding was delayed. It was supposedly a 2:30pm wedding but it started around 3:30pm already. The motif was champagne to chocolate brown, Filipino theme.

I loved the sermon of the priest and the Filipino exchange of vows. I always believe that important words conveying deepest emotions/feelings should be declared through our mother tongue. It is more heart-felt that way. I simply love it!

In weddings, I have 2 most favorite parts and they are:

1.)   Here comes the bride moment.

here comes the bride moment

I love to look at the bride as she walks down the aisle towards her groom, not really minding everyone else, not even the guests, just her destination—her husband to be. Also, during this moment, I love to look at the groom, when all eyes were on his bride, I like it when I see the love shining in his eyes as his bride walks toward him. *sigh*

2.)   Father-daughter dance

father-daughter dance

I’m a sucker for parents over-flowing love! Hahaha I consider myself as a papa’s girl (kahit i-deny ito ni papa, I am claiming it!). For me, fathers and daughters have this special bond the same way that mothers and sons do.

the ceiling was so festive!

The reception area was literally a skip and a hop from the church. I liked how the table was set and more particularly the vintage lamps. I also love how colorful the ceiling was. (I have this thing for ceiling fixtures haha)

filipino-themed table setting

The food was sumptuous and a delight to the palate! I tried everything that was offered and ate them all! (Good thing there was no shrimp in the menu…Thanks Posh! haha)… I wasn’t able to take photo of the food, guess I was THAT hungry! Haha

Kee and I had to leave early (yes, eat and run ang peg namin!) coz Kee was already complaining of the heavy traffic he has to go endure going home.

It was a wonderful wedding…and I’m happy that Posh has finally found her better half.

I saw a quoted something from the internet on my gift tag for Posh and husband which says “May you forever live in love and may LOVE forever live in you.”

…and may we ALL find love that lasts forever.

forever the romantic,
