sweet morning

I tried this Dark Chocolate Cherry Sansrival of Starbucks.

I'm not a fan.

Its toooo messy to eat (hahaha) and sticky! It stucked to the fork, to the paper plate...to everywhere!

I loved the cherry though! haha

I tried this because my friend loved it...guess we have different palate preference! :D

kilig

I have this "kilig" feeling for days now and I cant pin point the source. Whats up with that?

To those non-filipinos out there... I shall try to define what kilig is. (Note: emphasis on the word TRY! hee hee)

kilig (noun):  Its the little tremble or shudder (usually positive) and usually in reference to something one like. the feeling when one is infatuated
: some connotes this a "butterflies in the stomach"   but not quite so
: others defined it as "titillate"  but with less sexual undertone
            : twitterpatted
            : giddy-feeling

On other news, my officemate gave us these... Aint she sweet?!?

food down the memorylane

inipit + chocolate cake = one happy twisted chick! :P

I was on my way home last Friday and I decided on dropping by at SM Makati. As I roam my way around the ground floor, one cake caught my attention.

Hungry Pac chocolate cake were being sold!

delightful red box

Hungry Pac was introduced to me by my friend, Posh. She told me that every Friday (until Sunday--I think), SM Makati sells these uber delicious delicacies and other food. There are a lot of choices to choose from...there are bbqs, salads, flans, brownies and cakes. She particularly introduced me to hungry pac chocolate cake, given that I amn a certified chocoholic and a pastry-lover! Sometimes, Posh and I will travel home together (we live in almost the same area), we would pass by SM Makati and buy some pastries.

what's inside the box

Once introduced, I was immediately (undoubtedly!) hooked! Thats why when I passed along SM Makati, I couldnt help myself but to (unconsciously *yeah, right!*) keep one eye open for that pac-man looking character.

can you almost taste the rich, moist chocolate goodness???
*drooooool*

I like Hungry Pac...its cheap (first and foremost hahaha for the ehem ehem thifty person like I am haha). also it comes in different sizes. The chocolate frosting is generously spread all over the cake (which I like--very much!) and lastly but most important, the cake is moist!

another (yummy) pit-stop!

But then when I was on my way to the counter, I saw a familiar looking green, plaid box that brought so many high school memories to mind.

peek-a-boo!

It was a Eurobake box of Inipit!!!!

I got so excited because it has been ages since I last tasted an Inipit from Eurobake. In fact, I was still in highschool when I last had a bite of that delicious Bulacan delicacy.

temptingly irresistible!

In high school, I have a friend named Karla. Her family resides in Bulacan but she and her brother had an appartment near our school. During weekends she would go home to Bulacan and when Monday comes, she would always bring something for us (her classmates/friends). I especially loved her Bulacan's Inipit...(from Eurobake!). Somehow nothing compares to Eurobake's! (whoah, I sounded like an ad there!) All the other Inipit being sold in the grocery tasted dry and lacked something...they lacked "ummfff" of a great inipit!

wanna bite? :P

So naturally, I bought it as well! (Because I just HAVE to HAVE it!) :D

These goodies that so many memories...so many tummy-filling, enjoyable memories with friends! :D

*sigh*

still on a sugar high...

chewy TRIPLE chocolate chip cookies

look how cute they are all aligned like soldiers!

I'm on a roll last weekend baking one thing after another. These were the ones I baked last Monday afternoon after work! :D

I wanted to make chocolate chip cookies—one that is through and through chocolate-y!

these cookies i looooove!

Luckily, I found this in one of the websites I opened when I googled "chewy chocolate chip cookies". I'm not quite sure where exactly I found it—if I found it based on its picture, or based on a blog or recipe... but when I saw that it used bitter chocolate, my mouth watered! :D (I'm sorry to the inventor of this recipe as I am not able to name you...but KUDOS to you for such creation!!! good job! Hats off to you! :D)

yummy noh?!?

your end-product should look like this...sort of! :D

At first, I was skeptical as to the whole procedure. But nevertheless I brave my way through it! And it actually tasted good! REALLY! (I'm not just saying this because I'm the one who baked it, but I'm saying this because of all the cookies I've made—so far—this one I liked BEST!). It taste much better when served warm (pop it in the microwave for a few seconds before serving) and the chocolates are slightly melted. *HEAVENLY!* When it's cool, the cookies tend to be crispy... (Have I mentioned I liked chewy cookies?!? *grin*)

Anyhow, here's how I made these:

4 oz bittersweet chocolate
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1 ¼ cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (I used milk chocolates)

Procedure:
1) Preheat oven at 325F or 160C.

2) Melt butter and bittersweet chocolate over low heat. I was constantly aware of the "heat" during this part, as I don't want my chocolates to burn. Every now and then I remove my pan from the flame and let the chocolates melt due on itself... Plus the heat was at its lowest, again to refrain from burning the chocolates!!! (I have a bad/traumatic experience with melting chocolates before that's why I was too careful when I did this!) Cool and set aside. :D

3) Combine all the dry ingredients = meaning: mix together flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking soda. I just whisk it until all are thoroughly (well) blended.

4) On medium speed, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Then add the vanilla :D

5) On low speed, gradually add the butter-bitter chocolate mixture.

6) Still on low speed, gradually add the dry ingredients mixture. Mix until all ingredients are combined.

7) FOLD in the semi-sweet chocolate chips (I used my favorite milk chocolate and cut it into pieces—double the taste, double the fun! :D)

8) Make a tablespoon full cookie ball and baked for 10-13minutes (I prefer 10 minutes, better to under bake this one!) at 325F or 160C.

i used spoons to "mold" the cookies

best served warm so pop it first in microwave for few seconds before serving!

then enjoy with friends!

This has brownie feel to it when it is served. Yummmm-meh!

my teeth after eating all those sweets :D

chocoholic attack,
