another burger entry?

okay i concede. i am a burger person. (still cant believe it i'm declaring this to the whole world wide web, but oh well apparently i love burgers...)

after a long overdue plan of dining at army navy, Posh, Tato and I finally went and had our lunch there. The place was located at HDela Costa Street in Makati, very near--like a skip and a hop distance--CEU Makati.

i ordered regular burger, freedom fries and strawberry milkshake--one of the best partner for burgers, i must say...the other one is an ice cold beer! my friends ordered chicken burrito, steak burrito, onion rings and quesadilla.

the place was cool. small but nice. quite different set-up from other burger joints i'm used to. it was a nice change of ambiance! It has an "industrial" feel to it.

sorry mister, i didnt mean to include you in this pic...but i want to have a shot of the cool wall

there, no more mister just trays instead. i like their trash cans...as if any minute oscar the grouch would show up!

the only not-so-great-part was it took forever before our order came. this, considering that despite lunchtime the place was not packed. there were still a couple of tables vacant and we were among the first few groups that came in.

when our number was called, the order wasn't even complete! tato was just given his iced tea and freedom fries without his steak burrito and quesadilla, posh was only given her coke zero without her chicken burrito and i was given my burger and fries without my milkshake.) are they expecting me to choke while eating? i hope not! when tato's order arrived his iced tea glass was already half empty and his fries, long gone....but enough ranting, what matter was the burger (burritos for my friends) has arrived to satisfy our hungry stomachs!

the burger was fine...(maybe my judgment got clouded due to the loooong wait). it was definitely a good burger! the poppy seed bun was amazing...maybe even freshly baked! the patty was moist (although i 'd still prefer it to be a little bit more shall i say juicier than what was served to me!) FYI: i like it when i bite into a burger and the juices come right out dripping down to my chin--my standard for a juicy burger.

the burger, wrapped in a aluminum foil.

poppy seed bun.

there were some fresh lettuce, thinly sliced onions and red tomatoes. there were an array of different condiments to choose from, which i loved! kudos to the store because most of the condiments are Philippine-made, more particularly the green chili sauce, nice! AND last but definitely not the least, at the price of 135Php, this burger fits just right for budget.

can you hear the burger's call--"EAT ME!"

the freedom fries was a nice change to the ordinary size and length that i was used to. it was a bit smaller and tastier! i compare it to McDonald's twister fries but not twisted hehehe

freedom fries, at 60Php, not bad..

the strawberry milkshake was just right--not too sweet but verrrry creamy! just the way i like 'em! the milkshake costs about 99Php but its all worth your money!

creamy strawberry, what else would you ask for???

over-all, the food was great! hungry or not so hungry, definitely a must try!!! especially if you're into burgers (or burrito!) and want some change in your typical fastfood choices! next time i shall try the burrito, the bully burger and the fried chicken (which i heard are great as well)... and maybe next time i'll just have them delivered to my office so as not to waste minutes waiting for my order... (just a thought!)

on to my next burger-joint hunt!

Friday's Bacon Cheeseburger (a must try indeed!)

do you have a particular restaurant which you and a particular group of friends frequent? that whenever you see that establishment the first thing that comes to mind are the friends you've brought there, the food trips, the laughter and the stories...

funny how just last week i noted that i've missed going to fridays, as i was walking in glorietta and saw the fridays signage... suddenly i missed my high school friends kyla, maan and ria as well as my college buddy vivian. you see whenever i meet up with these girls the first restaurant that pops in our minds as meeting place or the place where we’ll hang out and chat endlessly for updates is Fridays...
*sigh*

when I saw the signage, I remember the memories shared inside the restaurant. I missed my friends…:)
chitchats while waiting for the order truly build memories...

then the other day, out of the blue i got treated to fridays at bonifacio high street (by officemates). yipeee! :) imagine my great elation when I entered the place. the feeling of euphoria combined with sadness (since I’m not with the “usual” bunch of people) enveloped me. but good food and FREE food is always good! so maybe next time… I’ll come back with the ”old” peeps… maybe one of these days even! (fingers crossed)

I am a woman of routine, and as expected I wanted to order chicken finger with honey-mustard sauce (my usual order!). however, my friend already ordered it as appetizer. so i ordered, as suggested, bacon cheeseburger--a must try (says the menu, the only reason why i ordered it!).

lo and behold the burger was HUGE!!!
huge and mouth-watering!
I was literally taken aback (exag! hehe) when i saw the burger. i had a meal a couple of hours back so i am not that hungry at all! but since the meal was a treat by friends i was duty-bound to eat it. i was able to finish half (whew!) and take home the other half (gave it to my mom since i'm still full).

the burger was delish! yummy! superb! had i not have eaten hours before, i would have devoured it in minutes with much gusto!!! the burger patty was think, moist and yummy! the veggies--lettuce, tomatos (i know this is a fruit!), pickles and onions--are fresh! the bun was huge as well..(as expected!) since the patty was big...(weird if the bun was small and patty is big, right??? hehe).

i think it is much bigger than the brother's burger BIG BROTHER BURGER... but equally delicioso!
PS just noticing....
i realized just now that i have this thing with burgers. this one is hard to admit because i never really saw myself as a burger person. but as this will be my third burger entry for a period of 5 months (one burger entry every other month), this just goes to show--to my complete awe and amazement--that i am really a burger person......NOT! (still in denial apparently! hahaha)

bon apetit!

Big Brothers Burger Half Off

as you all probably noticed, i have this "thing" with great food at a bargain price. who wouldnt want to eat a delicious and tummy-filling dinner without burning a hole in your pocket, right?

so last june 23, 2010 ALL Brothers Burger branches (except the one in Bonifacio High Street) participated in this Big Brothers Burger sale. Imagine BIG Brothers Burger normally costs Php175 a piece but on that particularly glorious day, it only costs Php87.50. IMAGINE THAT!!!!! (i can feel myself drooling by just imaginig, goodness me!)

The down side was that it was only offered a particular time on that day, it was only around 11am-12pm and 6pm-7pm. Plus, only the BIG brothers burger was on sale. However, you can add additional toppings if you want. Plus the maximum number of 20 burgers per guest ONLY :)

That day, my officemates and I headed to Brothers Burger Ayala Ave around 10am but as we entered the establishment, the place was already packed. (SWEAR, THIS IS SOOO TRUE!) However, there was no system implemented for ordering, to my dismay (so much for a hassle-free service!). Upon entering the place, no one was in line yet, in fact, there was NO LINE AT ALL! We asked around whether there was a number system for ordering, but there was none. We asked the service crew if we could fall in line already, as it was still 10ish, and she said it was up to us. Hence, we made a line of our own, much to the surprise of the people who were already inside the establsihment before us. (hey, its not our problem if we were smart enough to ask, right?!?)

we even met a nice middle-aged american lady who was surprised as to how packed the place was. she was nice enough to converse with us and tell us her amazement at what was going on. if she only knew, she said, she'd buy 5 more burgers insted of just one.

by, 11am we already got our orders and we headed back to the office. we stopped by 7-eleven first to buy a liter of cola to complete the meal...

i must say, a BIIIIIG burger with a hand-full of great friends plus good conversation makes a VVVVEEEEEEEERRRRRRYYYY GOOD MEAL! :)

sorry i want able to take pictures coz i was THAT hungry and was busy chitchatting with friends.:) i ate the meal at 11am but still felt full at 9pm! that is how BIG, Big Brothers Burger is!

bon appetit!

Chili's Big Mouth Burger Sale

an office mate read about this in the newspaper last week. hence despite us having a rigorous training, we really made a commitment to go to Chili's and avail of this scrumptious meal offer.

thus this morning, a quarter before 11, me and my two other office mates head to Greenbelt 5...we were excited like a kid on christmas morning!!! i ordered the bacon burger and a bottle of ice cold beer--SAN MIGUEL LIGHT! (well we ordered the bucket thing and mine was San Mig Light). We met up with the girlfriend of my office mate and her friend and that made us a party of five (from the initial 3)!!!

before the attack *grinning in anticipation*

i must say that up until now (its evening already), i still relish the feel of biting into that crisp burger bun and juicy well-done delicious burger patty! With a very hearty serving of tasty french fries... YUM YUM YUM LOVEEEEET! :D (i almost didnt notice the saltiness of the fries coz the "STAR" of the day is the lovely burger.)

haaaay THIS IS THE LIFE! :D
bon appetit!
