Two weeks ago, my aunt invited me to go jogging with her.

Its actually fun! :)

Posh got married!!!

I probably have a talent for wedding photography...what you think?!? haha

Last year I ended December 2012 with a wedding of one of my lawschool friends.

Now, my 2013 kicked off with yet another wedding.

Immaculate Conception Cathedral

The venue of the wedding has a particular attachment to me as the church, Immaculate Conception Cathedral has been a silent witness to all my sacraments as a Catholic girl. I was baptized there, had my confession, first communion and confirmation. I witnessed its reconstruction from a baroque (sorta) theme to a medieval/renaissance church (or so (I THINK---can you guess I have no idea what I'm talking about?!? haha) I heard).

Posh is one of the four individuals that composed of the happy friends group (I, included). They were my officemates and boss in my former office. I coined the term happy friends simply because we are always happy with whatever adventure we encounter as a group.

Last year (February 2012), we visited Tots in Singapore (who got relocated there due to work) and we had a blast! This year Posh got married and Keenan is now a father of a beautiful baby girl. Does this mean the “big” change is on me now?!? *excited much?!?*  Again, I digress…

missing yet another happy friend, Tots.

Tots, unfortunately couldn’t make it for Posh’s wedding so its only Keenan and I. (Also, this is the first time I got to ride Keenan’s brand new car and experienced Kee’s road-rage even if the venue is just three blocks from my house!)

The wedding was delayed. It was supposedly a 2:30pm wedding but it started around 3:30pm already. The motif was champagne to chocolate brown, Filipino theme.

I loved the sermon of the priest and the Filipino exchange of vows. I always believe that important words conveying deepest emotions/feelings should be declared through our mother tongue. It is more heart-felt that way. I simply love it!

In weddings, I have 2 most favorite parts and they are:

1.)   Here comes the bride moment.

here comes the bride moment

I love to look at the bride as she walks down the aisle towards her groom, not really minding everyone else, not even the guests, just her destination—her husband to be. Also, during this moment, I love to look at the groom, when all eyes were on his bride, I like it when I see the love shining in his eyes as his bride walks toward him. *sigh*

2.)   Father-daughter dance

father-daughter dance

I’m a sucker for parents over-flowing love! Hahaha I consider myself as a papa’s girl (kahit i-deny ito ni papa, I am claiming it!). For me, fathers and daughters have this special bond the same way that mothers and sons do.

the ceiling was so festive!

The reception area was literally a skip and a hop from the church. I liked how the table was set and more particularly the vintage lamps. I also love how colorful the ceiling was. (I have this thing for ceiling fixtures haha)

filipino-themed table setting

The food was sumptuous and a delight to the palate! I tried everything that was offered and ate them all! (Good thing there was no shrimp in the menu…Thanks Posh! haha)… I wasn’t able to take photo of the food, guess I was THAT hungry! Haha

Kee and I had to leave early (yes, eat and run ang peg namin!) coz Kee was already complaining of the heavy traffic he has to go endure going home.

It was a wonderful wedding…and I’m happy that Posh has finally found her better half.

I saw a quoted something from the internet on my gift tag for Posh and husband which says “May you forever live in love and may LOVE forever live in you.”

…and may we ALL find love that lasts forever.

forever the romantic,

what I did/ate/met last December 2012

A recap of what I did last December 2012...

1.) I became a (fairy?!?) godmother...again!

had fun with the bear souvenir
2.) Became an on-the-spot commentator at a friend's wedding
pretty flowers
with my GREAT friends

3.) Party with officemates

4.) Non-stop baking for Christmas give-aways!

5.) Celebrate Christmas and New Year with the family

PROMISE, I will start my diet tomorrow! hahaha
6.) Endless social networking

In 2012, I attended more parties and ate more food than what was really posted here. Met new friends and let go of some. Discovering new things about myself and exploring more places. Became more aware of what life has to offer. Became more accepting of my flaws as well as others. My heart had its highs and lows, I've laughed till I cried and I cried till there was no more tears to shed.

Blessed 2013 ya'll! :)

in vino veritas

the irony of sponge bob table napkin and glasses of wine

It was Sunday night.

I was with my highschool friends-- bunch of 30 year olds who just had a Sponge Bob themed birthday party...and one of the celebrants was not even with us since she's based in different continent. Still we make do with what we have...we always do. It was a fun gathering though.

Who would've that at the age of thirty a sponge bob birthday party can be fun? I guess when I was a kid I didn't understand what the fuss was all about with birthday parties. I just knew I were with friends.

After almost everyone went home (because the baby was exhausted) only three of us--single ladies--were left.

Soon the fried chicken, cake, bbq, spaghetti, and soda were discarded and we opted for more age-appropriate drink and food.

A soft melody was humming at the background, us girls sipping wine while nibbling on crackers with cheese and the conversation was stirred to love and relationship and us growing up.

Mind you, I've known this women since we were young teenagers giggling at the slightest sight of our crushes.

We've come a long way.

I suddenly remembered the quote an old officemate used to say "in vino veritas" (in wine there is truth). Given that he always say that whenever he wanted us to get some alcohol, I realized that there really is truth in wine.

Before I knew it, I was suddenly more talkative. Volunteering informations and things I don't normally say under normal circumstances. No, I'm not even the slightest drunk. I just had a sip of the wine and a slice of crackers with cheese. I'm blaming things on the environment.

Nope, not mother earth kind of environment but more of the ambiance.

I did just told you guys I'm a sucker for great ambiance, right?!? Well the ambiance was just that!

I don't really tend to reveal much of myself on them. Despite the years we've known each other and despite almost growing up together.

I don't really reveal myself to people, actually. (DEYM, did I just blurted that one out in cyberspace?!?)  :)

I take pride on keeping (some) things to myself. (Is this something to be proud of? Ha!)

My friends tell me, I should loosen up a bit.... maybe I should.

I guess I should drink (more) wine from now on. Haha

prettytwistedchick... cheers!

point-shoot-exposed!!!! (Singapore 2012 Trip Day 3)

SG Day 3: The third and final installment of my happy travel with happy friends earlier this year. :)

We decided to ride those double-decker buses and explore. Its our last day so we tried to do everything all at once haha

view from above

We ate lunch first in one of the malls and these are what we ordered. Unlike here, beverages are sold separately in SG. There are stalls specifically for drinks alone and if you're in a food court there are ladies strolling by with carts that sell various drinks!

dunno what this is but it was Kee's order
noodles for Tots
fried dori with sweet and sour sauce
the famous Barly
aba, may scramble din pala dun! hahahaha

Then we walk around and see the stores. We even went to H&M shop and told Tots and Kee to shop around, while Posh and I sneaked out and went inside the Abercrombie shop. We even had our photo taken with one of the Abercrombie guys...hee hee hee

Things we saw/do along the way:

colorful street decor

yep, we had fun!

Japan? Huh?

interesting stuff

Some interesting store signs.

cropped! haha

fierce!

di ata papasang gorgeous
di rin pwedeng naughty! haha
interesting signs
not a store sign but cool nonetheless

Then we head to Lucky Plaza and had a coffee. It was Sunday and the place was packed...mostly with Filipinos. Crazy!

LUCKY PLAZA
donut
Posh's hat
Posh's coffee
Tots Coffee
my iced coffee

Off we went to airport.

On our way, there is a sort of dragon street festival...

It was bitter-sweet to say goodbye. Leaving a friend behind and going back to your old life. Haaaay

our effort to have a group shot! :)

Last meal in SG McDonald's Grilled Chicken Burger

time to say goodbye

CHANGI AIRPORT- one of the best airports in the world
