point-shoot-exposed!!! (Bali, Indonesia)

Note: SUPER uber late post! :P

To be really honest I was almost afraid to go to this trip....because there were a lot of glitches.

First this was the last "booking" of 2014 for me. I remember it was a holiday sometime in August and I woke up with almost 300 viber messages from my friends asking for my passport details and basically saying I'll be joining them for a Bali trip in February. I was really hesitant to go because this was scheduled on the last weekend of February. I had a prior "booking" scheduled on the first weekend of February to South Korea with my best friend and her sister and their officemates.  But peer pressure is a bitch. Yes at my age, I can still get pressured into saying "yes" to an out-of-the-blue trip with friends. I almost don't have money to pay for the airfare (which was on sale at that time).

In the end, I had to choose between Korea and Bali...since I will be answerable to group of 4 women for Bali rather than 2 women for South Korea, I chose Bali. haha (Mahirap makiusap sa mas madaming babae! hahaha)

Second, my friends F and N (who are one of the four who guilt-trip me into going) said that one of them has to go to work (they work together) because HR do not allow them to be absent on the same days. So they had to choose who between them will be going. We already have our hotel booked at that time. F chose work so N went with us.

And third, on the day of our flight scheduled at 4 am (which meant that we need to be in the airport by 2am) no sleep for me, I met with N and sisters C and A in the airport. By the way, its a birthday trip coz me and N and A are March celebrants. We were about to check in our luggages when the airline officer said that N (my roommate for this trip) cannot board the plane cos her passport's validity is less than 6 months. It's a few days short of 6 months. After we beg and pleaded with the officer, N has to stay behind and we were getting anxious.

Why? Coz everything is not going as planned. First was F then N. And with all the missing and crashing planes going on we were really scared. Our flight schedule was on February 24-28. What really got me scared was my birthday falls the day after our return flight.

FYI: In the Philippines, we have this superstition that when your birthday, graduation, wedding day (or any other day of celebration) is nearing you have to be careful, coz you are prone to accident. That's why traveling is frown upon. And here we are 3 birthday celebrants about to travel. (Well, minus one because N got stayed behind).

Anyhow, here are a few of what happened during the trip. (Pagoda na mag-explain! haha)

DAY1
Tres Marias
SUNRISE + SEA OF CLOUDS = SUREAL
always a wonderful sight

I am a millionaire in Bali.... ha! :)

Yes, I was a "few days-millionaire"! bwahahaha Funny I withdrew 2,500,000 rupiah (yehessss!) for this trip which was around $200 (US dollars) and around Php8000++ pesos.

I have problems with conversion (seriously! I'll give most of my money in one day if not for my friends!) So what I did, I take away the fee for the driver/tour and then divided it with 5 days of stay--that will be my money for the day! :) Brilliant! haha

Hello, Bali!
love the ceiling fixtures at Cafe Bali, Seminyak

This gave us a sorta "free" tour of the city. Well not free but we only paid 20,000rupiah (don't ask me to convert this one!) and we were the only passenger inside the bus, its air-conditioned with free wifi. woot woot! (What more can we ask for?!?)

DAY 2

Winton, very cool and nice tourguide
We were lucky enough to meet our driver/tourguide, Winton. He speaks fluent English, which beats others who doesn't speak english but has free wifi on car. Coz communication is the key and a time-saving device! hehe

It was way easier to communicate with him and he brought us to authentic restaurants where locals eat authentic Indonesian food for a truly immersed Indonesian culture experience!

He was so patient with us (Imagine 3 women chatting with you and going on different directions to find some good outlet stores! haha) You can contact him thru this no. .......(i have to get his calling card for this! hehehe wait I'll post it later!)

shopping!!!!

We are girls....so shopping is really part of the agenda! FYI, Bali has a lot of outlet stores for surfing stuff and even Nike and other shoes. :)
